We were commissioned by the Estorick Gallery to design the catalogue for the latest Fauto Melotti's (1901—1986) exhibition. Fausto Melotti: Counterpoint showcases the poetic and exuberant work of the Italian artist. Informed by the language of music and mathematics, his artistic activity spanned a variety of disciplines and media, infused by a high sense of precision and playfulness. Organised in collaboration with Milan’s Fondazione: Fausto Melotti, the exhibition is the first institutional show to be dedicated to the artist’s work in Britain.Designed with melody and rhythm in mind, the catalogue is a visual blend of images and text with thoughtful consideration of format and materials to echo the artist’s process.
