Behance was pleased to throw a party for New York's Internet Week - gathering leaders in the creativity community together for a good cause. Attendees were encouraged to bring their idealism, and leave behind Action Steps with resources,
connections, and next steps to help three non-profits make their ideas

Behance founder Scott Belsky presented "Tips for Making Ideas Happen" at this year's HOW Design Conference in Boston, MA. Over 4000 people attended the conference this year. The session included tips from Behance's 200+ interviews of creative teams (many of which are profiled on BehanceMag.com) as well as the methodologies developed by the Behance team. We have come across an early blog review of the session as well as a blogger recap.

HOW Magazine features a prelude of Behance, ahead of an article in the June 2008 issue.

The team learned today that the Behance Network was named an official Webby Honoree in two categories: Social/Networking and Self-Promotion/Portfolio. The Webby Awards are the premier online awards, run by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences. We are told that only 15% of websites submitted are selected as Honorees. Given the early age of the Network, we were thrilled with the attention this provides for the Behance community.

The Behance Network has been selected as a Finalist in the 11th Annual SXSW Interactive Festival
Web Awards. The Behance Network was nominated and is a finalist for the
"Community" category, described as the following: "Sites and wikis that
have quickly developed an extraordinarily active multi-user community
and an exceptional following of users who assist with content

The Behance Team was invited to provide limited edition customized Action Books for this year's TED University participants. The annual TED Conference gathers the leading idea generators from around the world, including Al Gore, Benjamin Zander, the founders of Google, and many other productive creative professionals. Action Books were handed out to over 600 participants, along with a note from the Behance Team: "It is our hope that your experience at TED this year is both inspiring and motivating. We encourage you to capture the action steps behind whatever brilliant ideas come up. After all, breakthroughs are only achieved by taking action!"

The Behance team re-launched Behance.com as a gathering of the various products and services by Behance, including Behance's Creative Network, the Behance Online Magazine, the Creative's Outfitter, Advisory Services, the Action Method, and related sites. The new Behance.com site was designed to better present the team's mission and "how the various products and services in the Behance portfolio all work together to help creative professionals make ideas happen." Last week, approximately 300 leaders in creative fields gathered in New York City to exchange ideas.
