Mag cover relative to social isolation.
B-Human
B-Human is a magazine about Humanity that I created to illustrate some exercises in MM2 classes.
The theme for these two mag covers is social isolation and I am always intrigued by what light and darkness can reveal. I tried to unravel some of the concerns, using typing, black and white and a question.
1. The cover "Are we alone together?" reveals a pair of 2s facing each other, trying to understand 'the other'. The question that separates the merging of the two 2s is whether they are alone (creating size contrast with 'Are we', leaving out the concern if 'We' is an 'I' and weight contrast with 'together' - being together seen as fragile whereas 'alone' is taken for granted and, thus, can be shout);
2.The cover "Should I stay or should I go?" reveals an I isolated at home and other Is near each other, but it continues to be many 'I's, not transforming into 'We's. There is some ambiguity about the question posed - Is it directed to the isolated 'I' or the multiple 'I's that are outside? .
