Private Lunar Mission - Branding Concept

Private Lunar Mission
As part of my master in Art Direction I was asked to create a typography logo for the SpaceX project Private Lunar Mission.
The project aims to send to the moon the first group of tourists and it's already confirmed the participation of Yusaku Maezawa as the first voyager. Yusaku Maezawa, a Japanese billionaire, is setting a group of artists (6-8) from all over the world to join him on this exploratory and unique voyage set to the year of 2023.

For this project, I decided
to use the concept of movement.

"I choose to go to the moon" is a quote by Yusaku Maezawa, the first tourist to go to our natural satellite. "We choose to go to the moon" is also the title of the speech given by J. F. Kennedy about the effort to reach the Moon and it was intended to persuade the American people to support the Apollo program, a national effort to land a man on the Moon.

By changing the "we" to "I" we change
the concept of this project from being
a country mission to a private lunar mission.

Logo and typeface
The font selected for the logo and main titles was an adaptation of Nexa Bold. By expanding most of the letters I created a new display typeface with different widths capable to adapt to all the brand needs. The type of "expansion" created is unique to each letter. Five characters were practically untouched because of its physiognomy and characteristics.

There isn't one logo.
There are infinite logo options.
The designer is invited to play and experiment with the different glyphs and gets to create
a unique logo for each purpose.
