For my illustration lessons I got the assignment to make an album cover for the album called Nachtlicht by Eefje de Visser. The assignment was to make an album cover, button and a poster. Here you will see my progress sketches and finished results.

At first, I listened to the album and wrote down what its about. The songs are very slow with deep lyrics and meaning behind them. In one of the songs of the album she talks about the sea and under water. How when underwater everything is quiet and calm and above of the water its loud and she feels like she can’t breathe. And with that in mind I make some sketches.

Eventually I went with the girl with water hair sketch and combined it a bit with the magazine idea. The idea was to make the background with magazines.
