[TW; CONTAINS Gore, Blood, Triggers, etc.] An assignment was given to produce 3 designs of the same theme for a paper plane. These were my ideas, which were based on the theme 'cute-horror', where I intended it to appear creepy yet cute. It is highly inspired by Japan's culture 'kowaii' or 'yamikawaii'.
Metaphorically, each of the design has a meaning itself when the plane is opened - as the cuter designs are displayed outside, representing a plot twist. Front and back of the design are shown.
Emotions - Innocence on the outside but hidden psychopathic behaviour inside. It was inspired by a common
perception of human behaviour where people often have the thought that someone who looks pure should be pure inside too. However, it is never entirely true.

Animal - The sad truth of animal skinning industry (inspired). Dogs make a great companion and are man’s best friend. In Animal, it seeks to express the infamous animal-skin industry and dog meat festival where even docile dogs are skinned to make leather and slaughtered for their meat. Thus, shows the inside horror of unfortunate animalsin which a dog will be used as an example.
Purikura - The hidden truth of the current society obsession towards photo-taking that looks glamour on the outside but unknown in the inside. The term ‘Purikura’ means a photo sticker booth originated in Japan. Popular among high school students, their pictures are taken with friends and decorated with cute stickers. The camera is a Polaroid Model 1000, made in 1977 and the original logo for the famous social platform, Instagram. It symbolises on how hooked and attention deficit Instagram users are usually not as alive as their pictures.
