POKEMON PROJECT
Our task this term was to design our own Pokemon based off an animal of our choice. Below is my project's outcome; named Otterine, he is a fictional water and psychic type Pokemon based off the sea otter.

In order to design Otterine, I essentially drew an otter and added characteristics that represented the different types that make him up.
The blue fins on his head and tail represent the fact that Otterine is a water type Pokemon. They would serve purpose so as to propel him faster through not only water but air, too. The robes that Otterine wears represents his psychic type as well as his peaceful, knowledgable nature.

EARLY DESIGNS
These are the earliest designs of my fictional Pokemon. The whiskers - snagged from a koi fish so as to further represent Otterine's wise, gentle personality - were something I really liked, but didn't have space to add it into the final design as I could not get them to look as I wanted them to look in pixel art form.
The two balls floating around Otterine were not included in the final design due to lack of canvas space but are still relevant to his character as they are constantly orbiting his body at all times. Not only that but they are used during battle as both attack and defence tools.
The first image below is the very first design. I then further added to it in the second image.
MOODBOARD
ANIMATION
This is a basic animation for Otterine. This was created using Piskel, a simple, browser-based pixel art and animation tool.
