Secondary school and kindergarten in the residential area of Pid Holoskom in Lviv
In our opinion, a modern kindergarten and school should be a point of attraction for children, a space that encourages them to learn. The purpose of the idea of the designed buildings was to create the lightness and attractiveness of educational institutions, as well as to design the most comfortable and interactive environment where each student would feel comfortable. The designed buildings are fitted in the existing steep relief and are located in accordance with the norms of insolation. The secondary school and kindergarten are blocked as three-storey buildings. The main entrances to each are located from the north, and additional ones from the west. There is convenient access to the underground car park with all the necessary technical facilities inside. The kitchen unit works for school and the kindergarten, unloading and storing products in the underground level. Both buildings are designed to increase the number of students in the future. Landscaping meets the standards of inclusiveness and provides a public space for recreation of residents. Also, residents of this district will have the opportunity to visit the pool and even rent a gym outside of school hours. The dedicated sports unit provides a reception, wardrobe, and there is as option to separate it from the training part by a door.
The facades of the kindergarten and school are insulated with mineral wool and lined with facade stone tiles which will ensure the appearance of buildings neatness and durability. On the south and south-west sides, all windows are equipped with sun protection rafters to avoid overheating. The central and sports blocks of the school are lined with clinker bricks, which conditionally distinguishes them, thus visually breaking the volumes.
