I wanted to come up with a new logo that I could make into a stamp sometime and also bear a bit of resemblance to hanko or Japanese stamp. I couldn't decide at first how to put my personality in it but then I realized I loved cats and mermaids so why not combine 2 subjects together?
The Character
Mercat, as I call it, dons a crown to signify a female cat called queen, which is actually a homage to my real name, Regina which also means queen.
The Color
The yellow color is something I have always admired on most brands, mainly it is eye-catching for me. Originally I would have done my brand in teal which is my favorite color but yellow so far, matches well with the black and white. In addition to that, this color also exudes a happy, youthful vibe and happiness which resonates with my third name, Gioia which meant joy.
