A new digital painting that I just finished titled ‘ART IN A TIME OF WAR’, plus a few process shots.

 

I was inspired to create it because of the war in Ukraine, and also because of wars in general that have been taking place on our planet for ages. For some time now, I’ve been thinking about the role of artists and art in general in such times.

 

So this artwork depicts my thoughts on the subject matter.

 

In this scene you can see an elder couple who survived WWII creating a mechanical elephant. Outside their studio there is a turmoil, but they are not engaging in the turmoil, but create a joyful ride (reality) in peace and harmony.

 

The elephant represents wisdom by which we can make art that invokes thinking and re-evaluating the reality that we are part of so we can make a better one.

 

Art is a very effective tool which we have at our disposal to inspire people to IMAGINE a better and benevolent future for all of us.

 

CREATIVITY is a super powerful force from which we can create ANYTHING.

 

So let’s create a better future for the world using the powerful tools which we all have: our CREATIVITY and IMAGINATION.
