The not so baby book - A book for smartass babies

This is - The not so baby baby book. The idea behind it is to create images for very young babies that are aesthetically pleasing as well as suitable for their level of perception. What has been researched is that babies enjoy high contrast images, they do not have a depth or 3d perception yet, and they can hardly see any colors, however they deeply enjoy black and white images. The idea came from my baby daughter who would stare for prolonged periods of time into black and white photography and paintings that we have on the walls, in contrast baby books seem to be extremely simplistic.
In this book I have chosen some personal photos and reworked them so that they can be high in contrast and pleasing to the eye. There are several colorful spots on the pages that are there to check whether the color sight is developed, if it is the child will easily distinguish between the black and white and the color.

Some technical things I learned along this process:
I did some research into how children books are made and there are several things that need to be done for printing. The booklet needs to be small enough so it can be held by an infant, the pages need to be trimmed so there are no sharp corners. The paper needs to be really thick so the pages need to be few - 12-20 tops. The most common way is to stick them together in an accordion fashion, which will automatically make the pages thicker and will make it possible for several pages to be printed on one relatively large sheet.
