The importance of our identities in the digital space to access protected information and authenticate transactions cannot be overstated enough. The simplification of advanced biometric technologies into mobile devices has brought identity-protected systems closer to us than ever before. PaywithID is on a mission to enhance our payment experience through an application that allows you to confirm and approve transactions using advanced authentication technology powered by your identity. Their aim is to protect users from the risk of fraudulent actions, this means no transaction takes place without the authentication of your identity. PaywithID needed an identity to differentiate themselves from existing payment systems.
Creative Direction
To distinguish PaywithID from existing payment systems out there, we zeroed in on its strong identity authentication feature. Our direction for building this brand stemmed from ‘Security Is Who You Are’, A confident and assuring statement that reinforces the power wielded by individuals in managing their financial transactions.
Logo System
The logo of the brand needed to be simple yet adaptable. With ‘Paywith’ acting as a prefix, it was followed by ‘ID’ in crosshairs which essentially acts as an authenticating device that scans, approves or rejects your identity.
Design System
The crosshairs device transcended the logo and into the identity system. With 'Paywith' as a constant, we swapped out the suffix 'ID' to actual identifying features like iris, finger print, voice etc. The prefix device is very adaptable for future applications and can flex itself to precede sentences and even illustrations.
Motion System
The illustrations were highlighted by motion graphics which were important in breathing life into the still images. The animation of the typography was inspired by the process of deciphering code into readable words and this is inferred from the backend processes a device undergoes to authenticate one’s identity.
