I have done several studies of the plant, took lots of pictures. Finally, after I was happy with the composition I drew, I began building the sketch. I wanted to paint this magnificent flower slightly larger than its original size. So I draw it on the 200gsm 50x70cm cartridge paper. After I transferred my sketch to my watercolour paper I began to paint.

I used Sennelier professional watercolours curated set by Billy Showell and Billy's synthetic brushes with Saunders Waterford Hot Pressed 640gsm watercolour paper from St Cuthberts Mill. Also, I have used Sennelier's masking fluid to reserve the white areas of the leaves.

I hope you like it. This was a fun project to work with, but also it is a pleasant memory of mine. I will remember this painting and its challenges. With Chelsea, I broke out of my shell and tried to talk with people about me and my work which is super hard for me since I am super shy about it
