Literary life in Barcelona has always been analyzed from a male perspective. The book Barcelona City Council seeks to present the literary world in Barcelona from a female gaze through three sections dedicated to female writers, female characters and real women.
Upon receiving the commission to carry out this project, we were asked to bring dynamism to the 350-page volume. To achieve this, we commissioned illustrations from the artists Laura Pérez, Eva Zurita, María Herreros and Helena Pérez for the typographic title pages that open each of the three sections (plus the author’s note).
