When Chadwick Fowler of ModWed came to us looking to rebrand his high-end wedding photography and cinema business, he was frustrated at the fact that previous designers were having a tough time understanding his vision. We planned an in-depth discovery session where we could discuss his business goals and take the time to really listen to, and internalize, his vision for ModWed.

THE CONCEPT
After talking with Chadwick we had a clear understanding that he was looking to position the business to cater to his high-end clientele who come to him looking for his signature, color-saturated style. Together, we determined that the brand needed to be crafted to be elite, modern (of course), and fun in order to properly reflect his personality and the kind of relationships he has with his clients. We looked to high-fashion to inspire the elite, modern look of the brand and crossed the bold, black-and-white nature of those high-fashion brands with bold, bright colors that were found in Chadwick's work. In order to keep the vibrant colors looking upscale, we used them in a simple, bold way, often paired with a photo in order to maintain a strong emphasis on Chadwick's iconic work.

Throughout the course of the project, we developed a logomark that was designed to be modern, yet timeless, and easy to overlay as a watermark on photos. We also produced a set of collateral that explains Chadwick's specialities and sets the tone for the ModWed experience and art-directed the development of a simple temporary website that will give ModWed a home online until we can develop a completely custom web experience for them.
