INDEPENDENCE DAY CAN BE A BIG REMINDER OF OUR NATIONAL STRUGGLES
Independence Day is a national celebration that is supposed to induce a high sense of collective pride in citizens. In Nigeria however, Independence Day can become a marker for how long Nigeria has struggled on issues that affect our dear nation. Instead of celebrating with pride, we brood over what this nation is and what it could have been.

Our story is inextricably tied to that of Nigeria in many ways:
By name…We are Flour Mills OF NIGERIA!
By birth: FMN was also birthed in 1960, same year Nigeria got its independence.
As a national brand with strong ties to Nigeria, we owe the nation a duty of pride and celebration. Every Independence, regardless of what is happening in the Nation, we should ALWAYS give Nigerians a reason to smile because we as a brand are forever linked to Nigeria’s Independence.
We will celebrate Nigeria and Nigerians born on the same day as Nigeria and FMN. Born October 1st is an idea that gives the whole nation a reason to take pride in Nigeria again by showing that October 1st can indeed be a day of celebration and we start with the people born on that day.
