"Lamiaren Oinak" is a new and vibrant Basque folk band made up of three musicians, Maialen, Ane and Nerea, whose music uniquely combines retro sounds reminiscent of 80s and 90s arcade video games, with traditional Basque music.
To recreate this signature style, we turned to pixel-art, which is a form of digital art that uses individual pixels to create images or animations. Its pixelated and retro style evokes the aesthetics of classic video games.
The choice of a lamia (mythical female beings that lived in caves or rivers) as the central image of the cover seeks to capture the essence of Basque folklore and the connection with the land and its ancestral legends. In addition, it symbolizes the strength and feminine power that is manifested through the music and artistic expression of the band.
