'KIN pop-up store. Carnaby Street, London

'KIN
Pop-up store for Scrawl.
Background
‘KIN was a collaborative retail space brought together by Start JG and Scrawl, a collective of street artists, who wanted to create a pop-up art gallery to sell urban art and work also as an event space.

Challenge
‘Kin aimed to showcase the talents of some of Britain’s foremost artists and creative collectives and raise money for Shelter.

Solution
Start JG created the look and feel of the gallery space housed in an empty retail unit in London’s Carnaby Street. The opening night was a live art gallery - many of the pieces were created on the night in the gallery. We design a shop sign for the space that was a live artwork in itself too. There was a live pedal-powered DJ - fixed to an electric dynamo and fixed wheeled bike, participants generated power for the DJ.
