CASETTA

Both to cope with my mom's illness (fibromyalgia) and to raise awareness on this subject, which is sadly often overlooked, I wrote and painted a picture book (28x28cm): "Casetta". It's about 48 pages long and it's also part of my bachelor's degree graduation thesis. Casetta addresses my difficulties battling with depression while moving out from my childhood home and taking care of my mother in 2018.
The story is written using only the second person pov mainly to increase the feeling of intimacy while reading it and also because the main character of the story is actually the house itself – or, better, herself. Casetta is only addressed using "she/her" pronouns because she's very much alive; she's both a spectator and an active participant
of my mother's illness and mine.
In May 2023 "Casetta" has been presented at Salone Internazionale del Libro di Torino
at the Regione Marche stand!
Thank you!
