The Noon of Horrors at WSZOP 2023 | Event identity

The Noon of Horrors at WSZOP is a one-day event for high school students organised by the University of Occupational Safety Management in Katowice (WSZOP). The programme included, among others: a lecture on the modus operandi of serial killers, workshops and a staging of a crime scene examination performed by members of the Forensics and Criminology Science Club. Students could learn about how a polygraph works, how to do an external examination of a corpse, the origin of the popularity of the true crime genre and modern terrorism.

The second edition of the event took place on November 3 and, like the previous one, was intended to refer to Halloween. The graphic design includes motifs characteristic for this holiday: blood stains, a pumpkin, ghosts, a skeleton, lots of smoke and a font associated with horror movies. As the Noon of Horrors was scientific in nature, the students from the University became the faces of the event.

A special photo shoot was organised for the event, in which members of the Forensic and Criminology Science Club and a skeleton took part. Julia Grudzień was responsible for the photo shoot and retouching of the photos. My task was to design a poster (B2 format), graphics for social media posts, a thumbnail and the end screen for the YouTube video, a presentation template, a banner for the newsletter and graphics for the slider on the university's website. In the work, we also used elements generated by artificial intelligence (the Generative Fill function in Adobe Photoshop).

The first edition of the event can be viewed here.
