Monica Carubelli, an Italian gourmet chef, is passionate about exploring a variety of culinary traditions and incorporating components from many cultures into her unique recipes. With a special passion for Indian spices and cuisine, her culinary path intersected with mine when I introduced her to the famous Indian street snack 'Paani puri.' This incident prompted creative inspiration, prompting her to develop a one-of-a-kind recipe, which she then chronicled in an article for Annalisa Andreni's famous cookbook, 'La Signora Mostarda'.
Monica approached me to assist with the art direction for the photoshoot showcasing her dishes in Annalisa Andreni's book, 'La Signora Mostarda.' Our vision for the shoot centred on selecting props for food decoration, considering them as silent contributors to the dish's visual appeal. Additionally, we incorporated subtle Indian elements to honour and celebrate the rich cultural influence on her culinary creations.
