Quick Chats App
Overview:
Quick Chats is a mobile application meant to help make communication between deaf people and hearing people easier. The application has a social media-like interface to it so it is able to attract not just deaf people but anyone who is interested in learning more about the deaf community. The "Quick Chat" feature is meant to be something you can pull up on the application fairly quickly so deaf people can have conversations with hearing people and vice versa. After a message is sent in the conversation, it is automatically narrated for hearing people to hear the message out loud and then the other person can input a responding message so the deaf person can read the message and so on.

Research Summary:
After doing some research on the topic of communication between deaf people and those who are able to hear and speak, I found that there's usually difficulties in communication because it's usually either lack of knowledge of ASL, unavailable interpreters in places such as hospitals and other locations where interpreters are usually present in. Even if there are interpreters on standby, an issue I found what that some are not trained to be an ASL interpreter so that is an issue for those who are deaf.

Summary of Changes in the Design:
Going from the first iteration of the low fidelity prototype to the second iteration of the low fidelity prototype, the amount of screens present increased from 10 screens to 22 screens but a few of those 22 screens were variants of the same screen but with a keyboard pop-up. Throughout the prototype stages, I changed around locations of icons and changed how to they look such as changing icons to be more recognizable and distinguishable between one another like the Direct Message icon. Going from the medium to high fidelity, not much has changed as I wanted to refine the prototype, round the edges of some boxes and add a logo.
