2 weeks  -  spring 2013 -  individual project at Morrison Glass Art
Loose ideation.
Heating the glass.
Giving shape.
Rows of raised bumps were created by forming the glass in an optic mold and snippng along the ridges with shears.
The final piece can be used as a vase, lamp, or simply as a decoration.
Urchin has a non-uniform, organic quality to the color due to the use of frit (small chunks of glass color), as opposed to a powder or a dip of melted color. Slight striations are visible in the light and add interest to the piece.
