Exploralcalá is my initiative to create an engaging exploratory mobile site for my hometown of Alcalá de Henares in Spain located about 35 minutes due North East from Madrid. The site is intended for City Hall to help promote the local 2,000 years worth of archeology, architecture, history and literature the city has to offer.

 

The site showcases a dual-language format with Spanish and English (for International Visitors), information on times of operation, city address, costs to visit and a brief description of the location and what it has to offer. As Exploralcalá is intended for exploring the city, each location is guided by Google Maps to help assist you from your present location to your choice in destination by using Google Map’s own programming to guide you by foot, car, train, or plane.

 

In addition, by breaking locations down into these four categories previously established. This in turns helps cater to those that want to visit and explore for fun or for their personal educational benefit as the city receives each year a rich variety in cultures from international visitors to international study abroad students studying at the University of Alcalá de Henares.
