A friend of mine asked me to help with creating a project for the Make-A-Wish Foundation in Hawaii. The recipient in question, TJ, is a massive anime and manga fan so the goal was to present him with a wall of anime-inspired artwork.
My friend's original request was to simply bring out the colors in his artwork and come up with a fun background. Me, being the glutton for punishment that I am, instead had the idea to take both illustrations and recreate the DRAGONBALL Jump Comics tankobon cover and chapter inserts. With the exception of the Jump Pirate and the Dragon Ball katakana triangle on the chapter insert, everything else was recreated by hand.
