Faust Fabergé Egg

This time last year New York City was transformed into a public art scavenger hunt. The Fabergé Big Egg Hunt featured work from 150 leading artists and designers from Jeff Koons and Julian Schnabel to Ralph Lauren and Zaha Hadid. Each artist was given a 30" resin "egg" as a blank canvas. The works were displayed all throughout the five boroughs and ultimately auctioned off for charity with proceeds going to the Elephant Family and Studio in a School organizations.

Tasked with creating a larger-than-life Fabergé egg, I used five-thousand Swarovski crystals, meticulously glued on one-by-one to create my signature ornamental calligraphy. The piece was initially installed on the corner of Orchard and Delancey Street, the heart of the Lower Eastside, before all of the works were brought together at Rockefeller Center for the culmination of the exhibition.
