Many seminal typefaces and fonts are created with simple premises ranging from a utilitarian ideal or a stylistic exploration. My self-proposed concept for Blackhaus came from asking a simple “what if” question. The question was, what if Paul Renner had designed a blackletter font rather than Futura? The name Blackhaus refers to a Bauhaus blackletter.
