This project was born at FEUP as a result of an assignment for the "Multimedia Laboratory", subject of the Master in Multimedia.

Inspired by the book “Around the World in Eighty Days”, by Jules Verne, a new story has been made, using some of the original elements, just like the characters and the time.

With this transmedia experience, users will interact both physically and virtually, while exploring Porto’s city centre and its local businesses.

“Downtown 80 – Porto” is a new tool to be used by locals, tourists, retailers, and anyone who wants to have fun.

PLOT

This story starts in 1994, when a woman named Aouda is found dead with a shot on her chest, at her home. She was married to John Doe who was arrested, following his wife’s murder. But it was only in 2012 that the police found some new evidence and he got convicted to 20 years in prison.

In 2015, John escapes from prison and decides to contact Pedro Fogg, the son of the lawyer who was against him at court.
