Pressure soars is an ailment that impacts a large number of wheelchair-bound users. Guided by a user-centric approach though a design thinking methodology, the team iterated on concepts constantly until arriving to SmartAss. In a period of 72 hours, we designed circuits and 3d printed parts to have a cohesive prototype that proves our concept is a feasible solution to the problem. Work is in progress to develop SmartAss into a commercially available device.
-Pre-Build Design Thinking Iteration utilized to find the true purpose and cohesiveness to users needs.
-Partial Screenshot of existing Pressure/Force Sensors utilized for Analysis, Identification and Comparison purposes of proposed useful technologies as well as ease of utilization and competitive strength in the market.
-Iteration Process. Design of an Infrared sensor housing for purposes of gathering relative pressure readings. Solidworks Rendering.
