Baseplate - A Simple Project Starter
About Baseplate:
Baseplate is a simple and sensible baseline for web projects and is perfect for everything from quick protoyping to production-ready sites. I built the framework, created the branding, designed and developed the teaser page. Check it out the project at http://demersdesigns.github.io/baseplate.
Project Background:
Over the years, at the beginning of a development project, I found myself building up the basic tools I needed to get started over and over again. Baseplate started as a way to create a way to build out some basic tooling that would help me get stated on new projects, but quickly blossomed into a great little tool for prototyping when something like Codepen is not enough. I have gone through the process of starting simple, adding in a ton of functionality, and then taking it all back out again. My current iteration reflects my aim of providing just the basics, while making it super simple for other developers to bolt on the additional frameworks and libraries they need.
