Mountain Biking on Flintridge

The Flint Ridge Trail winds five miles along the northern ridgeline of NOC's Nantahala River property. The trail's elevation makes it a fast-draining alternative to the popular trail system at Tsali National Recreation Area after rain. The trail is also a good alternative on busy days due to its low profile.

While Flint Ridge is rolling single track for most of its length, the trail begins with nine switchbacks, which discourage beginners and challenge the fitness of all riders. Hang in there though--the view at the top is as good as almost any mountain biking trail in western North Carolina.
