Given the gap in the college of arts (d'Arq) in this matter, we were asked to develop a singal system that reflects the environment, the building itself, the disicplinas taught, and taking into account what means/remember to us. Looking around this historic building, in addition to its unique architectural features and its ornaments, there was something that just woke up my attention: once upon the time this building was a hospital and the transformation to an art and arquitecture school resulted in changes at the level of electrical systems, water and gas. These changes have created a network of pipes, tubes, electric wires, boxes and other related paraphernalia. A sign is also a network of comunicção, which aims to inform / display / guide any passerby that "it is directed" to obtain such information. It is this analogy between networks that part of my work: using tubes / pipes / wires as modules for the construction of "signs".
