What is the meaning of ‘home’ for youth 1~2 household in Korea?
Project Smallarge house for starter will provide some community space people meet to communicate. It has to be purpose-built. Residents meet and communicate each other and communicate with city in community space. It could be able to colour the generic city. And project Small house will have residential hotel program. The purpose of project Small house is to make a quality house and give youth residents special experience.
From above research, the most of youth 1~2 persons household don’t live in quality house. 58.8% of them live in ‘One-room(the space smaller than studio, usually 15㎡)’. For them, house is too small, stuffy to have fun. They couldn’t expect any community space such as living room or dining room because of overinflated house price(or rent) for bigger one. Many of them live in isolation in their ‘One-room’. Their house doesn’t satisfy them emotionally.
Project Smallarge house for starter will provide some community space people meet to communicate. It has to be purpose-built. It is started from making a block. The block has for units which share one private lift without fire escape. There is fire escape outside. The lift would bring residents to up stair, Living Sharing. One block is composed of 7 storey units and 1 storey Living sharing.
The blocks are arranged along the site axis.
