Igloo Letterpress Expansion Campaign

The Igloo Story

Igloo is a small but mighty letterpress and bookbinding studio, retail shop and commercial printer in central Ohio. It’s roots are steeped in history. They are passionate about using their extensive collection of wood and metal type and beautiful vintage image cuts. As a modern letterpress printer they thrive on pushing the envelope and experimenting with the best of digital and analog techniques. To visit their studio is to receive an education in not only the 600-year history of printing, but to get a glimpse of where it is going and why it is an always changing, vibrant, and exciting craft.
Objectives

After going to Igloo and meeting and talking with Allison and Beth, we determined there were a few specific goals that they had in mind that they would like to see accomplished and believed would improve their already successful business. Being located in Worthington has its pros, such as access to a small community where word of mouth thrives and a shop location in the city center. However, they would like to be able to tap into the Columbus market more in the future. Another issue was their retail products. They agreed that they would like the retail products that already have currently made to sell more.
Strategy

To promote Igloo in Columbus, we would utilize Columbus’ many festivals and markets as an opportunity to present the public with a pop-up booth on location with a selection of Igloo’s currently existing retail products. This not only allows the public to be introduced to Igloo and letterpress, but with a selection of already made pieces available and on show, gives the visitor the opportunity to view and buy products right on-site.
