BBC KNOWLEDGE: CHANNEL REBRAND OFF AIR
Off air branding for BBC Knowledge, designed to work in conjunction with the broadcast package, yet allow for greater creative autonomy.
Strategically, the off air package was created to reflect the principle that BBC K is an open platform for peoples opinion, without the constraints of preordained ideas of knowledge. To build credibility to this strategic approach we placed the personalities of the channel and their opinions at the forefront of the brands communication. Quotes were taken directly from the channel personalities and used as the primary marketing language.
A flexible grid, built around a tab based design was created to give the package a liberated and unconstrained aesthetic. Tabs were designed to suggest the informative approach to the branding.
