Paintapic allowed you to turn your favorite photo into a custom "paint-by-number" kit complete with brushes, paints and real canvas. I co-founded the company and it was my first chance to actually create a brand AND its product from scratch.

 

Since the product was only available online, the website commanded the majority of our attention. The challenge was to provide a non-web savvy user with a simple and instructive experience that would guide them through the process of uploading, editing, approving, and finally, ordering their kit.

 

 

In addition to turning their own pictures into kits, users had the choice of ordering any of the other projects from our social gallery. The gallery was comprised of all the projects created by our other users. It  served as a secondary marketplace, a product showcase, and lastly, a community for Paintapic enthusiasts.

 

This project was a labour of love, and the careful attention to detail, design and branding both online and off are indicative of this. Shown below are a couple of "behind-the-scenes" videos and images that help show the true scope of this project.
