Tahadu Tahabu

Tahadu Tahabu
__
A gift is something given freely without expectation of reciprocation or payment. This exchange takes many forms and is always culturally specific. In most consumer societies, the ritual exchange of gifts is similar: an item is wrapped to conceal, which requires the recipient to unwrap in order to reveal.

The ritual implies effort, care, thoughtfulness and value, while it also highlights the emotional power of surprise and discovery. In it’s wrapped form the gift is a tool for communication. After all, how something is hidden may communicate more than the object that is hidden.

As Local as it gets

This is a fun illustration with sarcastic tags to the local community (Qatar). This design was featured and selected as the Arabic book cover for Tahadu Tahabu, curated by Nathan Ross Davis.

The Sidr

This is a simple minimal approach of the national tree (Sidra) and fruit (Canary) of Qatar.
