Dian pertemau" (Di-yan pe-te-mow) in Penan language means "Please to meet you" or in Malay "Selamat bertemu".
Sengguyon (Seng-Ngu--Yon) is a term in Kenyah language which means "to work together" or in simple Malay "gotong royong". They plan their hillside paddy by way of "sengguyon" where there call their relatives from the village including those from different ethnic such as the Penan people to work together in the field. This concept is to make sure family stays closer and villagers trust each other in any work.
I was onassignment deep in Ulu Baram, Sarawak to document the daily life some of the native of Sarawak from Penan, Kenyah and Iban people in hope to better understand their way of life, culture and tradition. "What we have no might not last long, but while it is here we will cherish is fully" said Arthur Jalong.
