In January 2013 I completed an online course with Pensole Academy. It was a great experience and I grew as a designer and as a student. I interacted with over 30 students from all across the globe, hearing their unique viewpoints and opinions. I chose to do an excursion hiking boot for exploring uncharted territory/back country. It's equiped with a PLB (Personal Locator Beacon), knife, and flint striker.
Initial Brief
Above on the left are the 3 tools I implemented into the shoe. Each are secured and can only be removed if the key hole next to them is pegged to ensure that they don't bounce out during a hike.
During this 3 week course I did 12 three inch sketches, 6 five inch, 3 seven inch, 2 nine inch and 1 eleven inch sketch. Here's one of my favorite precursors.
