OLD MAN FELUDA
"Retired detective Pradash C. Mitter gets back on the track for one last time, to save Calcutta city from being blasted away by his arch nemesis Maganlal Meghraaj, and to finish him off for once and for all."
I recreated the character 'Feluda', originally created by Writer and Director Satyajit Roy. I wanted to design a character that is much more serious, mature and dark than the Feluda we know and love. I wanted him to be a character who was hurt, lost his passion for investigation and this was his last case.
To create this old, gritty and dark version, i tried to set the mood right at first. I studied feluda drawings by satyajit, Soumitra Chaterjee's cinema Joy Baba Felunath, explored how the pose should be, I even tried to recreate certain patterns and design from the films.
This character design was submitted in Cartoon People's Deshi Character Design Challenge, and got the first place.
