Outdoor furniture made from high tech materials manifactured with a low tech method. Made in a course at the Iceland Academy of the Arts in the spring of 2012 where the objective was to merge together materials and methods of two companies into one object. Right now there is only the one table but stools could be made in the same form and from the same materials to create an outdoor furniture line. The fiberglass is cast into an aluminium mold and a part of that mold is left in with the fiberglass. The aluminium gives the object strength and weighs it down as well. Making the object I worked with two companies; Stjörnublikk and Trefjar.
