Cospaces Competition & Beginner Course

Cospaces is a online software available for teachers and students in which students can build and play their own 3D/VR/AR worlds and games. It's an amazing software which is really easy to learn.

At VR Learning Lab we saw the potention of this software. VR Learning Lab is the company where I had my internship, and where I currently as of writing this am employed. One of my first intership days was tagging allong with my supervisor which was going to give a workshop about CoSpaces. After this workshop I was amazed by what the software could do and how easy it is. And I immediately said, wouldn't it be awesome if we held a competition for kids about building a game with CoSpaces? Just like the Lego Leauge?

Fast forward 9 months (a while after the end of my 5 months internship). There it was the first CoSpaces Competition!

For the CoSpaces Competition we decided to make a free online course. This course soon became the main project of my internship. In the beginner course you learn in steps how to make and build a zoo and also how to make it come alive with the help of coding!

The dutch version of the course has been mainly made by me, and curated by my supervisor. I learned quite a lot from the project, mostly about teaching and explaining towards kids. Giving workshops on how to work with CoSpaces to teachers and young students, also helped me a lot about learning how to explain things.

The couse in the end got translated towards english by a colleague. And the english and dutch version combined where quite a succes. With currently over 700 course takers, this number is amazingly still growing.
