ENERGY BAR PACKAGING

ENERGY BAR PACKAGING
Most cereal and energy bars are wrapped in plastic with the product photographically displayed on it. There is no concept for a multipack of bars which is made for the different times "before, during and after" sports. The objective was to create a new shape for the packaging of energy bars that attracts the customer's attention on the shelf which is dynamic and environmentally friendly at the same time.

The three bar packages were created in the plan of diamond shapes, which when put together complete a hexagon. This form is derived from the chemical structural formula of carbohydrates and should point out the most important energy suppliers in sport. In addition, the lid of the package is chamfered to enhance its dynamics and to provide a readable area for information or logo on the shelf.

The chosen material in my concept is glassine coated paper as it is biodegradable, recyclable and tasteless and odorless at the same time. It offers an alternative to the inflationary use of plastic packaging, which stands out directly on the shelf.

The main design elements are the barcode, which grows upwards the packaging in a muscle fiber pattern, as well as the illustration of energy in shape of lines. The pattern covers all 3 packages and connects them thereby.
