Suomenlinna is a UNESCO world heritage site about 4 km southeast of the city center of Helsinki. What makes it unique is that the fortress is not simply a museum but a living community of Nordics. If you visit during the winters, you'll only get to spot a few locals around, making this place kinda isolated compared to the other parts of Finland. At times I felt like I've landed in the film sets of "Shutter Island".
