Curieus Games Logo Redesign

The team at Curieus Games reached out to me about redesigning their current logo. The company started in the nuclear industry, creating fun and educational games for schools, but is now reaching further to include a wider energy sector and beyond.

The name is a play of the word “curious” and “Marie Curie” a Nobel prize winner in the fields of physics and chemistry.

The goals of the redesign was to create a fun and playful logo that sparks curiosity and is in line with their new brand.
Sketching process

Keeping in mind the direction, I started sketching some solutions. The challenging part was the connection between the “u” and the “r” and making that part clear and readable while maintaining the fun and playful feel to the logo. Instead of the dot on the “i” the team imagined a spark that would be a connection to the lightbulb in their current logo. I absolutely agreed with the idea and worked with a spark the entire time.
Vectors and alternate options

Once the logo sketch was approved I moved to the vector phase where all the little details and imperfections get ironed out. With a vector version done I was also able to experiment with alternative options of the logo, creating a unified but versatile system.
At this point we started working on the spark some more, and the team had an idea to try a filament shape instead of the spark, which worked a lot better by softening the entire feel of the logotype. With the curious and playful nature of their entire rebrand it fit perfectly.
Thank you for watching!
