Connections in Corona
Coronavirus has been an interesting time to navigate loneliness and relationships. I'm no different in my struggles through this time and nothing has been more difficult than the time I've been forced to spend away from my daughter because of COVID-19 health restrictions...it's been hard, it's been hurtful, I've felt empty and felt unlike a parent at times. Despite these hardships I've also had time an opportunities to grow.
Pieces left to right ("Animalistic", "Bonded", "Bright")
In the time of coronavirus I was given a great gift of isolation as well and it gave me an opportunity to take a deep dive back into art as a way of life, not a supplemental activity. I started playing, experimenting and made sure to tie my love or art and the healthy practice to my relationship with my daughter.

Each print consists of 3 blocks and I took drawings from my daughter that she would do when we are together and translate those onto print blocks. This has been an incredibly personal process getting to translate her drawings into a medium that could be reproduced that she could experience later in life.
Bright was shown at the Maryland Federation of Arts show "Small Wonders" in 2020 and edition 1/7 was sold.
