Having free reign over this assignment, I decided to make a magazine based on National Parks, specifically how climate change effects the parks. I chose this topic because I believe it's really important to understand climate change and how man made actions have consequences to more than we know. A big problem that emerged was picking the colors for the text, and where to place it. 

Especially using scenic photos, I made the decision to blow a lot of them up to either take up the whole page or half the page. Not wanting to have pages with just photos and no type, I planned on using the type as a decorative addition that goes along with the photo. The photos don't have single colors, so picking a color for the type needed to be contrasting enough so the user could still read the article, without standing out from the photo too much.
