ILLUSTRATION and GRAPHICS

Unless explained, a lot of these are graphics for shirt designs. Commissions tend to come from all over the place as far as themes and occasions, but I tend to incorporate our Choctaw culture as often as I can.
These were Facebook stickball frames that I designed for our tribal members to use to rock their team colors.
These were Valentine cards I designed for my son to give away at daycare. They say some common Valentine sayings in our Choctaw language.
This was designed for my son to wear to daycare on Valentine's Day. The candy has common Valentine sayings in our Choctaw language.
The strong female representation in "Encanto" is a theme that is prevalent in our Choctaw culture, so I took the opportunity to re-envision Luisa as a Choctaw woman.
Chatafied an emoji one day. No reason why, just had an idea and ran with it :)
This was one version of wrapping paper I had designed this past Christmas. Pretty snazzy, in my humble and very biased opinion. :)

Above is my son; he tends to be a main source of inspiration for me, especially in how I hope his relationship with our culture grows to be.
Our traditional dances are hardly expressed visually other than through pictures. I decided to share aspects of our snake dance through a shirt design, highlighting its motion and lyrics.
This was originally designed for a mug for my mom and sisters- we all live on coffee. Coming from a matrilineal society, the female role is one to be protected and valued. These aren't just my mom and sisters, but all of the women of our tribe. This one's pretty special, so you can find the explanation for it here: https://www.facebook.com/552433248/posts/10159065342358249/?d=n
The previous two are my attempt at minimal recreations of parts of our culture. The first is the original idea, with the next being a revision.
Above was a design I made for my son to wear on Indigenous People's Day, formerly known as Columbus Day. He's cool, that little activist! :)
This was my cousin, my brother. We lost him not too long ago- life just got too hard. Every year on his birthday, I try to create something to remember him. I feel that any talent I have in art/design is the best I have to offer. And he deserved the best.
My family, my son's support. No matter what, he will be loved :)
My attempt at character design for some of our stickball teams. I haven't been able to create one for all of our teams, but it is something that I'd like to accomplish eventually.
My family is made of drummers. I've taught my wife, and now we will teach my son.
Flat lay for a mug that I designed the graphic for.
Yes, that is a MMIW themed helmet. I designed and painted it. Cool history-time behind the design, you can find it here: https://www.facebook.com/552433248/posts/10159001748168249/?d=n
This graphic was made for my son to wear during Dr. Seuss week at daycare. I turned Thing 1 into Something Else 1, equipped with stickball sticks and puckertoe moccasins
This graphic is a representation of my son. He is half me, half my wife. The left half represents the stickball team I play for, the right side is my wife’s
This was a graphic for a shirt that celebrated the strong women we all have in our families. The details in each woman’s dress represented different eras of the dress and variations of how beadwork is worn
