This is a set of covers that I've done as a personal project for the Harry Potter series. My goal was to take elements from each book and illustrate it on the cover to create a bit of intrigue and an "Ahhh" moment for those who have read the books. I've also taken elements from all the covers to create a repeating pattern that works for endpapers.
Also, for whatever it's worth, SPOILERS AHEAD.
Book 1 : I've added the birthday cake Hagrid gets Harry, Hedwig, The vials of potions Hermione sorts through, the Chess game played by Ron, the key caught by Harry, the snitch, the broom, the troll's club that brings them together, the feather that Hermione and Ron fight about, the chocolate frog that Harry tried and the letter that started it all.
Book 2 : We have Moaning Myrtle, the bathroom sink, the custard that Dobby destroys, Tom Riddle's diary, Polyjuice Potion, the hand mirror that brilliant Hermione suggests, Dobby himself, the sock that frees him, the Mandrake and the infamous car.
Book 3: We have the delicious and calorie dense butterbeer, the Whomping willow, the candies from Honeydukes, the time turner, the monster book of monsters, the evil dementors, Crookshanks, the footprints on the Marauders map, Harry's Patronus, Buckbeak, Scabbers, the "spare bit of parchment", the Firebolt and, finally, the Grim.
Book 4 : We have here the mermaid on the mural in the wall, the gravesite, the cup, the entry cup, Moody's eye, Potter Stinks badges, the egg, The dragon, Gillyweed, the bug, the quick quill and the dark mark.
Book 5 : The order headquarters, Weasley's crackers, Umbridge's teacup, mistletoe, the list of names in Dumbledore's army, the Phoenix,Umbridge's high inquisitor orders (exhasperated eyeroll), Daily prophet, Sirius and The Prophet.
Book 6 : The basin in the island in the lake, Malfoy, the goldfish (if you know, you know), the potions book, the ring, the pensieve, Felix Felicis, The blood from Sectumsempra, the vanishing cabinet and the killing spell.
Book 7 : The sword of Gryffindor, the Patronus, the Hallows, Nagini, the Horcrux, the mirror, the Put outer, the tent, the goblet and finally, Rowena Ravenclaw's Diadem.
