During my last year of college, I took an independent study with the computer science department that focused on building a complete project management system from scratch using Ruby on Rails.
This was my first project ever even touching Ruby on Rails, but I quickly picked up the language and framework, and started to build my project mangement system from the ground up.
While the design changed iterations time after time, what you see below you is the final design that I came up with for my project management system. Unfortunately I did not have enough time to take my designs into code, as the course was focused primarily on the getting the functionality down. However, I am still very happy with the result from a design standpoint, and think it would create a good jumping-off point if I ever wished to full flesh out my design and start taking it into code.
